Home, at last.

She holds a small mirror in her hands, looking into it with her brilliant green eyes wondering if she is going mad, or is her subconscious trying to tell her something that she is yet to recognize.   Her mother speaks to her, in the strangest forms, running a hand through her dreads as she looks out from one of the station windows from the object in her hand.

"What is happening to me?"  She looks out at the distant plant that lies under the station.

She gets up and walks over to the window, placing the mirror on the chair, singing a soft song to herself. "You found me when no one else was lookin' How did you know just where I would be?  Yeah, you broke through all of my confusion.  The ups and the downs and you still didn't leave.  I guess that you saw what nobody could see.  You found me, you found me."  Her voice echos softly through the apartment with a haunting elegance to it.

She reaches the window and places her dark long elegant fingers on it with palms spread, her forehead resting against it, with strange almost serene smile as her voice echo's again "And I was hiding 'til you came along. And showed me where I belong.  You found me when no one else was lookin'. How did you know? How did you know?"  She bangs her fist against the window slightly, happy, confused, scared and unsure.  She slides down the window holding her head, as tears fall from her eyes.

"Mom? Mom? Please.... I am so tired..I am alone..." She closes her eyes tight, then the feels arms wrap around her and pulls her close, recognizing its her little brother.

The teenage brutor softly strokes his sister's hair "Shhhh, Lit, its okay, we got each other.  Mom is gone, she died remember?"  He wraps his arms as best as he can around his older sister to try and soothe her.

"She speaks to me Duncan, or I think she does.  I don't know.  She tells me we are going to be okay here."  She puts her head on her brother's lap and sniffles slightly as she cries "You don't hate me for moving you down here do you?"

Duncan laughs softly "Hate you? Lit...hate you? After everything we have been through together...Lit, I love you.  I could never hate you.  We are safer here then any where.  I saw what people did you up there.  No, you did the right thing.  I love it here, there is a lot of stuff to do and learn."  He runs his dark fingers through his sister's dreads, just like their dad did.

She closes her eyes tight, as her face relaxes noticeably "I would do anything for you two, you know that right."  She looks up him with her teary green eyes.

He smiles gently "Oh, yes of course Lit, you would die for us.  I know that.  But you Missy, need to stop worrying so much.  We ARE home!  Home is not a place, home is where family is, and well we have family here."

She chuckles slightly, as she wipes her cheeks from the tears, lying in her little brother's lap on the floor "Since when did you get so smart.  Soon we will have it more so...in a few more weeks then we can finalize things."

"Since, you taught me to be.  You just need to relax and stop worrying so much.  We will be okay.  We're tough, like you taught us to be."  He chuckles, leaning down and giving his sister a kiss on the cheek.

She slowly sits up on the floor and smiles at Duncan, nodding her head "Alright, Alright, I will try to stop worrying.  I promise!"  She gives him a tight hug "Thanks little brother, thanks for being here."

"Well someone has to."  He smiles, and hugs her back just as tight "You gonna be okay now?"

She nods her head "Yah I will be."

"Good, I am going back to my room then, get some sleep okay?  If you need to talk I am here."  He gets up and walks towards the hallway to go to his room, turning around "Oh and Lit?"

She gets up off the ground, standing to look out the window for a moment "Yes Duncan?"

He smiles softly look up at his big sister "Their death's are not your fault, so stop blaming yourself.  And two, if it helps I forgive you again.  I also love you."

She trembles looking out the window and looks back at him trying to maintain a calm composure "I love you too Duncan and thanks."  She smiles at him, watching him go down the hallway, waiting to hear his door close.  She wraps her arms around her stomach, biting her crimson lip as tears fall down her face. Finally, allowing the weight to be lifted off of her shoulders, that she has carried for along time.  She turns and heads into her bedroom to go to bed for the night.
