An Angel is Reborn

The silhouette of a long lean muscular leg shows outside of the shower.  As a hand reaches for a dark towel and wraps it around her body.   Slowly wiggling her hips into a pair of grey combat fatigues.  Her arms extend up as she slips over her head a white tank top,  shaking her head slightly getting the water out of her dark dreads.  She walks out of the bathroom, and puts on her black combat boots, then turning away to slide on her Damnation Angels vest.

A small girl limps into the room, hair very red. "Mama, soon?"  She crawls herself up onto her mother's bed and sits to watch her.

"Yes, Ami soon.  Soon, we can leave our past where it should be."  She smiles softly at the young brutor half ni-kunni.

"Me come?"  The child says hopeful, with wide green eyes.

She shakes her head softly "No baby, this is mama's work to do.  But I will be home soon.  Plus you love your sitter."

Ami crosses her arms and pretends to pout "Awww but mama, they know my leg?"

She nods her head "Uh huh, they do and they will take care of it."

With a soft smile and a ruffle of Ami's hair, she picks up the little girl and carries her to the living room, whispering "I love you Ami, sitter is here.  See you soon."

"Wubs you too Mama"  Ami limps off to play with sitter.

She walks out of the apartment and heads right to the shuttle bay.

She takes a few moments and a few deep breaths, realizing this could be the end of one leg of her journey.  The importance of this next meeting will have a great impact on her life.  No longer a slave, no longer Matari, finally and hopefully just an Angel.

She side glances at a reflective surface as she walks down that corridor, realizing she isn't the same woman she was four months ago.  She isn't just a member of a corporation that is loyal to the Angel Cartel, but she is actually a Angel.

"I am a Angel."  She says it with a smile as she continues a long her walk to that office.  She slowly opens the door and walks in, taking a seat.

She crosses her legs, with her foot bouncing up and down quickly.  A nervous habit she has as she starts to chew on her lower lip waiting.

The same tall elegant Sebiestor woman steps out of her office, looking at her data-pad for a moment then looking around "Captain Khammael?  Captain Literia Corale Khammel?"

Literia stands up slowly, and raises her hand "Right here."  She steps forward to the woman and nods her head respectfully.

The other woman, studies the young brutor eying her up and down with a slow nod. She opens her door to her office "Please come in, this shouldn't take too long.  It is nice to see you again so quickly."

"Thank you, I worked very hard to resolve the issues you raised the last time in a speedily manner."  A small smile creeps a cross the raven dread brutor as she steps into the familar office and takes a seat in the chair where she sat not too long ago.

Sitting behind the desk the Sebiestor elegantly dressed for business, nodding her head reading over a few reports.  "I am impressed Capsuleer, very well done.  You still have the two minor children Amitel Kunnani and Duncan Khammael in your care?"

Literia smiles nervously at the compliment, raising a hand to move a stray dread out of her eyes.  "Yes, they are still in my care, and the three of us are still applying for citizenship."

A long finger is raised to the Sebiestors lips, her eyes flicker towards the brutor that sits in front of her.  With a small smile creeping across her face "Well because of the reports I have here, I don't see the need to put you through anything further.  Plus you are a Capsuleer.  CUR85763567-74 Citizenship for Literial Corael Khammael.  CUR1247897210-75 Duncan Khammael Curse citizenship.  CUR98754578964-76 Amitel Kunnani Curse citizenship have been granted.  Welcome home Captian Khammael."

Literia's eyes go wide with excitement of the realization she did it almost stumbling over her words "Thank you, oh thank you so much."  She says nervously with a large grin across her face.

The woman laughs softly "No, thank you for your service.  You can go now."

She stands up, wringing her hands with excitement, she nods her head "Oh, Okay, thank you again."  She quickly walks out of the office, then makes her way back to the shuttle bay to head home.

She finds herself looking at that same reflective surface that she did on the way in.  Thinking on something she saw on the Clubhouse front door "Leave your religion, race, creed and tribe at the door, in here we are all Angels."  That saying to her means so much because now, she really is free.   Her past is left behind her.

She is an Angel Reborn.
